Senior year in AHA is the culmination of the AHA experience: the Senior Internship Seminar (SIS) will
explore and deepen themes that have been introduced throughout AHA courses. There are four essential
questions, listed below, that we will explore through various creative and interdisciplinary projects. The
SIS will consist of three main components:
1. Independent and group projects
2. Practical experience through interning
3. College and job preparedness.
The primary objective of the SIS is to give real world experience and allow the opportunity to see how
artists live outside of the context of school. Additionally, throughout the course students have the opportunity to
develop a professional dossier and portfolio that will be ready to share with potential employers, educators, or
professionals in the students desired field.
Essential Questions:
● What are the unique characteristics, skills, talents, and interests that I possess (and can develop) which
can be put to use personally, academically, artistically, and professionally?
● What skills and tools do I need to succeed at the next step on my academic or professional path?
● What tools do I need to succeed as an artist in the “real-world”?
● How can I use what I have learned in AHA to achieve my goals as well as affect change in the world?
