-How can I can identify and explain the contributing factors and symptoms of respiratory illness?

The 10th grade Interdisciplinary Project combines World History, World Literature, Anatomy & Physiology, and mixed media/photography. The Students work in groups of four to research a specific local community (Bayview/Hunters Point, the Central Valley, Richmond, and West Oakland) and examine the community’s demographics, its geography, the health of its residents, and local causes of health problems (especially asthma.) The students then transfer their research into an art piece consisting of four 10x10” panels, with each panel addressing one of the four areas of focus listed above.
